THOUGHTS.
Compelled by the elemental polarities in the cosmos, Earth and human behavior, my work conveys the essence of opposing realities that when brought together, create a harmonious sense of wholeness.
My approach to expressing this balance blends together varying compositional structures with rich and luminous surfaces of oil paint, offering a viewing experience that is at once intuitively familiar yet definitively unrecognizable.
Through the power of visual storytelling manifested in this process, my work realizes the reciprocity between our tangible existence and the intangible realm.

ROOTS.
The daughter of architects, Marianne grew up in a home designed by her parents. She and her husband raised their own family in this house, offering Marianne a deep relationship with an architecture of open floor plans defined by stone walls and glass facades which framed the landscape. This environment of harmony held in contrasts, profoundly shaped her artistic vision.
UNSOLICITED.
Marianne has a rare and precious talent; she is a true colorist. Her unusual sensitivity to color is matched by an innate understanding of the emotional impact visual elements have in composing a work of art.

Wow, this painting makes my spirits soar. I lean towards realism, but the adherence to beauty in this work surpasses any other considerations.
